When Rednecks Attack.

August 15, 2013 Featured, From The Right, Gun Control, Politics 47 Comments

This image is important because this is the image media outlets such as The Los Angles Times put out with attempts to sway the ignorant into taking away your constitutional rights. The goal of the image is to scream overweight stupid Redneck. A man child with barely an IQ above a child’s food size clutching his gun while wearing his pajamas in his trusty confederate hat.

The connection you are suppose to make is that serious people can not be for owning guns and thus the government should forcibly go to every trailer park in America and forcibly take the guns from these idiot hillbillies. Never mind the fact the artist gave credit to his beast for knowing who Pol Pot, Stalin and Hitler were. Because I can assure you the average young person whom this is suppose make laugh are clueless of the wrath (other than hollywood Hitler) these men had on the populations they controlled. Let alone the women and minorities this is meant to scare.

Imagine the horror the suburban Los Angeles Asian housewife must feel when she sees images such as these– how do you think she will react when asked the question if we should ban guns?

But that’s not really the debate about guns– rather that is what the liberals want the ill-informed to think is the debate about guns. So let’s change the scenario, use a few stereotypes since stereotypes are on the table given the image above and because the Los Angles Times would never print it. But the truth is around Los Angles county the vast majority of independent gas retailers and liquor stores are owned by minorities. Pakistani, Indian, Korean, etc… amazingly entrepreneurial communities. And the statistics also show that if a liquor store is held up in Crenshaw the likely culprit will be a black male between the ages of 15- 36.

Now change the image around. Imagine 2 black males with gold teeth, dreadlocks, and hoodies standing on one side of a counter. One is holding a pistol- the other a baseball bat. The bubble says something simple like, “give me all your money”. On the other side of the counter you have your minority business owner who says, “it’s under the counter” and then the image shows the business owner holding a gun- any gun. Maybe there is a little window that only the cartoon reader could see that shows an AR-15 very similar to our redneck friend above- laying under the counter with a tent style card that says option 2.

Once this new image clearly shows the business owner protecting his property and his life– then we should ask the hypothetical people –the above redneck was suppose to scare–  if it was ok for the business owner to own a gun or even an AR-15. My guess is the answers would be vastly different. The point is- liberals want to make arguments that are not based on real life and rather just play upon emotions. Conservatives want to worry about the real –world not an imagined one.

Indeed. The artist betrays himself by admitting that he knows how evil Stalin and Pol Pot were. Hollywood doesn’t usually like to talk about them. Hitler, however, is a cheap shot. So they wrote him off.

If you can agree with Edmund Burke’s (1729-1797) statement, “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.”, will assuredly support the individual Right to keep and bear arms.

One needs only to be familiar with the facts disclosed in R.J. Rummel’s excellent historical documentary book, “Death By Government”, to be an avid supporter of this most basic Right To Self Defense. See Book info at:

262 million did not have the means to defend themselves against their OWN government and were slaughtered by their own government in just the 20th century.

It can happen here just as easily as it did in another Republic with a Constitution and an elected Legislature before it morphed into Nazi Germany. It can and has happened in many countries in the past.

  • skepttico

Funny, I know a few folks that might be labeled as country or red neck. I don’t know to many stupid ones. It makes me wonder, what is it about libtards, that make them think they’re smarter than the average bear?

    • TexasOlTimer

Ironically, the term ‘redneck’ originally meant a “union member” dating back to about 1910. It became popular during the 1920s-1930s in coal-producing regions of southern WV, eastern KY and western PA where it applied to a coal miner who belonged to a union.

It was a slur used to described them by the strikebreakers and non-union miners, particularly during strikes by unions and other disputes. It was furthered (or perhaps started) by the use of the unions when they wore red bandanas around their necks (in the same way we see them worn in western movies) to identify themselves as being with the union.

      • bull57

Finally, someone that knows the true history of what the Term redneck originally meant. Thank You…

      • Chris Graviss

        from Wikipedia-

The term characterized farmers having a red neck caused by sunburn from hours working in the fields. A citation from 1893 provides a definition as “poorer inhabitants of the rural districts…men who work in the field, as a matter of course, generally have their skin stained red and burnt by the sun, and especially is this true of the back of their necks”.[10]

By 1900, “rednecks” was in common use to designate the political factions inside the Democratic Party comprising poor white farmers in the South.[11] The same group was also often called the “wool hat boys” (for they opposed the rich men, who wore expensive silk hats). A newspaper notice in Mississippi in August 1891 called on rednecks to rally at the polls at the upcoming primary election:[12]

        Primary on the 25th.
And the “rednecks” will be there.
And the “Yaller-heels” will be there, also.
And the “hayseeds” and “gray dillers,” they’ll be there, too.
And the “subordinates” and “subalterns” will be there to rebuke their slanderers and traducers.
And the men who pay ten, twenty, thirty, etc. etc. per cent on borrowed money will be on hand, and they’ll remember it, too.

By 1910, the political supporters of the Mississippi Democratic Party politician James K. Vardaman—chiefly poor white farmers—began to describe themselves proudly as “rednecks,” even to the point of wearing red neckerchiefs to political rallies and picnics.[13]

Linguist Sterling Eisiminger, based on the testimony of informants from the Southern United States, speculates that the prevalence of pellagra in the region during the great depression may have contributed to the rise in popularity of the term since red, inflamed skin is one of the first symptoms of that disorder to appear.[14]

By the 1970s, the term had turned into offensive slang and had expanded its meaning to mean bigoted, loutish and opposed to modern ways, and was often used as a term to attack Southern white conservatives and racists.[15]

        • TexasOlTimer

If you want to believe what you read on Wikipedia, be my guest. My grandfather was one of the miners fighting the ‘redneck’ union workers. They wore a red bandana around their neck to identify them from the non-union workers.

          • Chris Graviss

Just saying that was not the “original” use of the term redneck.

          • anoesis

Do you really believe you are the only one who’s right here? Chris Graviss is absolutely correct. And I don’t read wikipedia, I LISTENED to my Daddy, who was a farmer and PROUD of it. He was also a WWII sharpshooter and expert marksman. The term redneck is preferable to stupid damn butt kissing blind jackass fear monger which is what all liberals are.

          • SpudPicker

This was confirmed by the History Channel some time ago. The mine owners were a bit reluctant to let miners unionize. Those that had become unionized went to help their brethren to get safer work conditions and better pay (This was before unionism got out of hand!). The red bandanas distinguished them from the mine owners and the thugs that were hired to repel them so the non unionized miners would know who to shoot at!

As a one time farm boy I know that if the “redneck farmers” had wore bandanas while out hoeing the corn their necks would not get sunburned. And, you can put it over your mouth and nose when the dust blows to keep from eating and breathing dirt.

          • TexasOlTimer

My dad’s people were farmers and I grew up around them. No one I knew that was a farmer had ‘red necks’ from the sun. They all had spent so much time outdoors, they were ‘brown necks’ from being tanned so deeply by the sun. They all wore hats and you could see the line on their forehead between the tanned faces and white where the hat covered it. But no red anywhere.

        • OldNorthState

Good post, Chris, your source material (“Wikipedia” notwithstanding) does correlate with my own knowledge of the expression, my family being from the rural farming areas here in NC. And I believe that TexasOlTimer’s good post has historical validity, too. This expression obviously had regional or colloquial meanings that varied significantly, though today they’re all pretty much lost in antiquity, and “redneck” is just another slur, usually aimed at manipulating the recipient. I’m proud, just as TexasOlTimer no doubt is of his own background, of being from good, decent Southern “redneck” heritage. The real “rednecks” typically were – and are – the real backbone of this country – hardworking, family-oriented, God-fearing folk. The real irony is that, in the South at least, the “redneck” farmers and working folk were mostly Democrats, “way back when”! The Dem Party hadn’t transmuted into the aberrant liberal group it is, today. The majority of my family were and are conservatives (of which I’m considered a “flaming conservative”!), and most (not quite all) had switched to the Republican Party by several decades ago. Now we’re considering switching to something – “God knows what” – else, if our Rep Party doesn’t straighten out. (At least I am considering such…)

          • Chris Graviss

For full disclosure, I’m an anarcho-capitalist, who doesn’t trust republican politicians at all. At least not since Barry Goldwater

You are full of it. Red neck refers to the red from the sun of white people who worked outside in the sun. Mostly fieldwork in the South. They were from the lower class and the term was derogatory.

        red′neck` or red′-neck`,
        n., adj.

usage: All the senses of this term are usually used with disparaging intent, implying negative stereotypical traits such as ignorance and bigotry.

        Informal: Usually Disparaging. n.

        1. (a term used to refer to an uneducated white farm laborer, esp. from the South.)

        2. (a term used to refer to a bigot or reactionary, esp. from the rural working class.)

        3. Also, red′-necked`. narrow, prejudiced, or reactionary.

Or how about changing libtards into libTURDS??? I think that fit’s those people a lot better that libtards, don’t you?? Because, mainly, they are all just a bunch of pieces of s**t, right?? Chief Kessler had it right when he made those videos of him with those different automatic rifles, he was just showing what true American people would love to do to those who would take our freedoms away from us in the name of protection, HA!!! Protection from whom or what?? I say, protection from those libturds who are trying their damndest to steal our freedoms away so then they will have complete control over us all and there won’t be a damn thing we will be able to do about it if we let them take away our freedoms without a FIGHT!!! So, hang on to your rights, your guns, your families, your God and your religion, not necessarily in that order, I believe I would put God and family and my religion ahead of everything else but that’s just me. So, how about the rest of you? Are you willing to fight and to protect your God and those you love from the libturds who are trying to destroy us, our country and our Constitution??? If you are, very Good for you. I am an oath taker, i.e. when I joined the US ARMY in 1967 I vowed to protect and serve my God, my country and the Constitution from ALL Enemies, both Foreign and DOMESTIC like those self same libturds and obama and the rest of his illegal ilk. holder, biden, bloomberg, cuomo, christie come to mind just to name a few. So L&L fellow brothers and sisters and stand tall and firm against those libturds who are trying to destroy us. Thank you and God Bless all of you and pray for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to come back soon.

That cartoon looks surprisingly like me! I just don’t own an AR15.
I have had a concealed carry handgun license since 1976 and have yet to harm anyone, well maybe not quiet anyone, as I did damage my hearing before the use of hearing protection became the norm!
This is just another liberal demonstrating an overdose of stupidity!

I also wish that people would study the term “redneck”. It is actually a compliment describing a hard working person with a deep belief in providing for his family and not taking BS off anyone. Most today think it is a derogatory remark and try to use it that way. when the term is used of me, I say a polite “Thank You.”

    • 820 REDHORSE

Well I’ve always took it as a compliment, I grew up farming so being from the country folks from the larger towns always called us bumpkins or rednecks , I still farm today and own my own business for 18 years and when I meet with some of my customers from the city they all approach me the same way, but once we start talking and they see the finished product, they realize that my accent & attitude, work ethic is a refecltion of my “rasin’s” & hertitage and I think thats the 3 key positive traits of a redneck . So Thar!!!!LOL

That’s fine with me, I will swear to uphold the constitution of the United States no matter the cost, amen

David Horsey is the cartoonist. He tows the Obama worshiping line in every drawing. He’s even won two Pulitzers, which is like war criminals winning Nobel prizes [which has happened more than a few times]. Of course he a self hating white bitch who’s never lived in or near a ghetto, so it’s easy to talk bollocks from his BMW on the way home from the racket club to his tract house in a gated secure community full of other soulless white mind controlled yuppie pansies. If he spent more time working on caricatures, which rarely even look the people he’s trying to draw, and doing some research, he might actually one day deserve one of his awards.

Here’s a cartoon of mine which explains one reason why we do need guns…the cult I call THE ORDER OF THE HOLY HOODIE.

as libs tend to use emotion as the basis for all decisions, you can see their opposition to guns. It is unimaginable in their view that someone would act with reason and not the emotion of the moment. To those of us who rely on logic for our decisions, tempered by emotion, usually look to use of a gun as a last resort.

Jesus Christ! Who is your editor? Please spell and grammar check before publishing. You’re driving me nuts …

Oh., and before any of you go spouting off about my pointing out “minor problems with spelling and grammar”, think about this: this man’s job is to be a writer, and it is the height of unprofessionalism for him to not proof read his articles before posting them. We are losing the culture, dear readers, and our culture is based, first and foremost, on our LANGUAGE.

The grammar and style (or rather, the lack of both) of this posted article is just more evidence of the “dumbing-down of America.” Your use of dashes instead of commas, semi-colons, and hyphens is atrocious and screams out that it is amateurish writing at best. Please learn how to use basic AP Style sheet editing practices. I mean, seriously … “You’re killin’ me, Smalls …”

What is most maddening to me is that I agree with you points in your article, but the poor manner in which you express them is killing the message. That can only be the fault of the messenger. Please take these criticisms to heart, as they are meant to help, not to hurt. I am trying to bring your attention to an issue that is currently minimizing your ability to get your message across in a competent and coherent manner. If you would just consent to learning and utilizing the AP Style Sheet (look it up on the Internet), it would help your articles readability greatly.

I wish you good luck and success with your writing.

Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of a new book, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness,” writes,
“Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal
responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave.” Rossiter also writes that the liberalism displayed by both Barack Obama and his Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton can only be understood as a psychological disorder. Dr. Rossiter, in my opinion, has nailed it. Basically, liberals are emotional children.

“Rednecks” are extremely valuable in today’s United States. With all the political correctness going around, it seems that the only people of color that it is OK to make fun of, are “Rednecks”.

And even with a white collar neck I identify myself as a redneck because I cling to my pickup, my means of self protection and the realization that there is a Supreme Redneck.
